The President of NBP was reappointed for the second term to the Steering Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board
The President of Narodowy Bank Polski, Professor Marek Belka was reelected for a second term of three years to the Steering Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB). The Steering Committee plays crucial role within the ESRB, mainly by assisting the General Board of the ESRB in decision-making process.
Representatives of central banks from the euro area in the Steering Committee are: Mr Mario Draghi (President of the ECB), Mr Vitor Constancio (Vice-President of the ECB), Mr Ewald Nowotny (President of the Österreichische Nationalbank), Mr Ignazio Visco (President of the Banca d’Italia) and Mr Jens Weidmann (President of the Deutsche Bundesbank). Representatives of central banks from outside the euro area in the Steering Committee include: the NBP President, Mr Mark Carney (President of the Bank of England) and Mr Stefan Ingves (President of the Sveriges Riksbank).
The President of NBP is the only representative of the Central and Eastern European central banks in the Steering Committee of the ESRB.
