Leszek Balcerowicz visit to Rumania

President of the National Bank of Poland, Leszek Balcerowicz, is on a two-day visit to Rumania. The itinerary provides for meetings with representatives of state and monetary authorities and representatives of the world of science and business.
During his visit to Rumania, Leszek Balcerowicz will hold a meeting with Prime Minister, Adrian Nastase, and the President of the National Bank of Rumania, Mugur Isarescu.
Leszek Balcerowicz will also pay a visit to the Rumanian Academy of Economic Sciences where he will give a lecture entitled Lessons of transitions and will participate in a grand presentation of the Rumanian edition of his book Wolnosc i rozwoj (Freedom and Development).
The itinerary of the President of the NBP also provides for interviews to TV stations and the newspaper editorial staff, participation in a press conference and a meeting with representatives of economic circles that is organized by the Association of Businessmen of Rumania.
In Rumania Leszek Balcerowicz is considered as the main author of Polish economic changes so due to this his visit to this country is expected with a very big interest.
Representatives of the Rumanian political and economic circles even hope that the visit of Leszek Balcerowicz will become a start to a broader discussion on achievements and deficiencies of Rumanian reforms.
