Cracow, 11–12 October 2021
Narodowy Bank Polski and the Pedagogical University of Kraków are organising an international conference on social and economic history entitled: History of Banking in Galicia and Małopolska (Lesser Poland) in 1844-1945. Background, Comparisons, Experiences. The conference will be held at the premises of the NBP Regional Branch in Kraków, at ul. Basztowa 20, on 11–12 October 2021.
We invite submissions from researchers – historians, economists, archivists, and bankers – from Polish and foreign research centres (from, among others, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine). We would like the invited speakers’ presentations to focus on topic areas such as: banking in Małopolska (Lesser Poland) in the period of World War II, the history of Polish banks and credit and savings institutions in Galicia and interwar Małopolska (Lesser Poland), economic crises in the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century, and the response of the Polish banking sector to the recession, particularly from the perspective of Galicia/Małopolska (Lesser Poland).
