| 15.04.2004 - Information from a meeting of the Payment System Council
The Payment System Council, an advisory - consultative body for the Management Board of the National Bank of Poland, held a meeting on 15 April 2004.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Jerzy Pruski, Chairman of the Council, First Deputy President of the National Bank of Poland.
The Payment System Council: - Acknowledged information on the realisation by the National Bank of Poland of new tasks resulting from the Law on Electronic Payment Instruments,
- Acknowledged information of the National Bank of Poland on the work status of the SORBNET-EURO system for the settlement of large-value payments in euro,
- Acknowledged the operational principles of the EuroELIXIR system for the settlement of retail payments in euro which were furnished by the National Clearing House SA,
- Issued a positive opinion on the evaluation of the Polish payment system in the second half of 2003, which was prepared by the Payment Systems Department of NBP.
The Council also accepted two documents: Report on the Activity of the Payment System Council in 2003 and the Annual Work Plan of the Payment System Council in 2004.
The Council has decided that its next meeting will be held in June 2004.
