Reserve money and its counterparts

The table presents reserve money of the central bank and its counterparts (net external assets, credit to central government net, other items net) with a monthly frequency from December 1996.

Starting from end-November 2008 data Narodowy Bank Polski introduced methodological change in the compilation of the central bank monetary base. The redefinition consisted in including in the monetary base deposit facility held by banks in NBP, which is included under "Current accounts", being one of the M0 components.

Starting from October 2017 Narodowy Bank Polski has been publishing information on reserve money and counterparts in a single file: “Reserve money and counterparts (monthly data)”. Information on official reserve assets is published on the NBP website under „Balance of payments statistics”.
